TITHE

God's plan for the support of His work on this earth is through the tithe and freewill offerings of His people. The tithe is the main source of funding for the total proclamation of the gospel to all the world by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This includes a balanced and comprehensive evangelistic outreach to the public and the spiritual nurturing of church members. Because the tithe is reserved for a special purpose, freewill offerings must provide the funding for many functions of the gospel work.

OFFERINGS

Offerings are special gifts, beyond the tithe, that express gratitude for God's goodness in our lives. Paul gives instruction about offerings in 2 Corinthians 8-9. He says in 8:12, "For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have." In 2 Corinthians 9:6-9, the Scriptures say that we will be rewarded according to our generosity and that we should give joyfully from a willing heart. The outcome of generous giving is that God receives praise and we receive blessing. Our desire is for God to be praised and for His people to be blessed, so we encourage everyone to trust God by returning a tithe and by giving generously beyond that.

ADVENTIST BELIEFS

Seventh-day Adventist beliefs are meant to permeate your whole life. Growing out of scriptures that paint a compelling portrait of God, you are invited to explore, experience and know the One who desires to make us whole.

We accept the Bible as the only source of our beliefs. We consider our movement to be the result of the Protestant conviction Sola Scriptura; the Bible as the only standard of faith and practice for Christians.

We currently hold 28 fundamental beliefs that can be organized into six categories: the doctrines of God, man, salvation, the church, the Christian life and last day events. In each teaching, God is the architect, who in wisdom, grace and infinite love, is restoring a relationship with humanity that will last for eternity.
